Plein Air
En plein air, a French phrase meaning "in the open air," describes the process of painting a landscape outdoors.
I have a great group of friends that I go plein air painting with. In 2022 we explored the Wind River Range in Wyoming.
I had the pleasure of plein air painting in the Rio Grande National Forest in the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado (2021) with awesome friends.

Painting at 10K in Wyoming. When plein air painting there are more than a few obstacles; this day was bugs but the views were spectacular and the only other humans we saw were on horseback.
